Duties:-
• Assume responsibility and represent the road design department for all aspects related to surface / ground water drainage.
• Provide leadership in all relevant departmental functions.
• Lead external & internal coordination pertinent to surface & ground water drainage.
• Review, comment / recommend acceptance or otherwise of related consultants’ submissions.
• Comprehensive responsibility for management and control of related functions in in-house projects, including detailed scope definition and initiation, work progress and completion and staff management.
• Performance of actual design duties when directed.
• Performance of other related duties as per management instructions.
Requirements:-
• BSc / BEng or equivalent degree in Civil Engineering from a Western Country is mandatory
• 10 years of demonstrable experience, 5 years in drainage design & construction of infrastructure projects, with satisfactory exposure to all related disciplines and a project management capacity in the last 5 years.
• An understanding of the Qatari road infrastructure network as well as In-depth knowledge of American or British standards related to infrastructure engineering.
• Excellent written & spoken communication in English.
• Excellent management, problem solving, communication, & negotiation skills.
• Presentation to technical & non-technical audiences.
• Proficiency in using relevant engineering tools and software.
Those based in the GCC are preferred but not essential.
